Allegory--A discourse that describes one thing under the guise of another.
Analogy--The process of transferring information from a particular subject to another particular subject and a linguistic expression corresponding to such a process.
Exegesis--To " lead or guide out ". The art of interpreting and explaining the biblical text.
Hermeneutics--The art of interpretation, especially of scripture.
Myth--A story that was not met to be historical or factual, but which expressed the meaning of an event or narrative and encapsulated its timeless, eternal dimension.
Metaphor--Language that directly compares seemingly unrelated subjects. This device is known for usage in literature where with few words, emotions and associations from one context are associated with objects and entities in a different context.
